Located in the heart of Sainte-Maxime, this historic port has been an important symbol of the city since the 18th century. To this day, the port of Sainte-Maxime is a must-see place, especially for sailing enthusiasts.

Like a sumptuous ship, the harbor master's office is a reception quay open all year round and provides boaters with many services. Indeed, there are refueling stations operational 24/7 as well as wastewater and bilge pumping. This marina also offers services such as mechanical repairs, boat rentals and sales, guarding, catering and more.

Divided into two distinct parts, the port basin extends over approximately 8 hectares. In fact, there is a public port and a private basin, hosting the port and the ferry terminal.
Reserved for boats under 28 meters, the public port of Sainte-Maxime can accommodate up to 405 vessels and has a space dedicated to visitors with 51 places available. In addition, there is a quay reserved for fishermen and the sale of their products. Take the opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of fish that the generous Mediterranean Sea offers.

Concerned about the environment and aiming to enhance its port, the town of Saint-Maxime has obtained European Clean Ports certification.

Before becoming a Roman town, Saint-Maxime was a Greek trading post, established by the Phocaeans, which they named “Calidianisi”.
In the 18th century, this modest port became a real small commercial port allowing the loading of goods coming from the Maures forest. Wood, wine, oil, cork, grains and various minerals are transported on sailing ships to Marseille and Italy.
At the end of the 1930s, this commercial port was transformed into a marina. Indeed, after an enlargement of the area in 1972, the port of Saint-Maxime could accommodate a greater number of boats.

At the end of the 19th century, the city became increasingly known through the writers, poets and painters who settled there, conquered by the beauty and tranquility of the place. It was at this time that the economy of Sainte-Maxime focused more and more on tourism, despite the traditional activities linked to agriculture and fishing, which gradually declined.

Today, the Port of Saint-Maxime is a real holiday resort, offering breathtaking views of the immediate surroundings of the port. In addition, this popular place offers a good number of excursions and activities to discover the beauties of the region. Among them, we find the "must-sees", such as: the Voiles de Saint-Tropez, the Rallye du Var, the Free Flight World Masters or the Corso du Mimosa de Sainte-Maxime.
Indeed, at the end of September, the Voiles de Saint-Tropez regatta takes place for a week in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The most beautiful traditional yachts, legendary boats and sailboats compete for exceptional regattas. An event not to be missed!

Furthermore, just a stone's throw away, you will find the Quai Léon Condroyer shopping arcade for your shopping sessions, as well as beautiful sunny terraces, which will allow you to share pleasant moments until sunset.

Don't miss the famous beach in the city centre and the church of Sainte-Maxime with its 18th century bell; not forgetting the impressive and famous Tour Carrée, home to a museum dedicated to fishing, crafts and local traditions.
